View Full Version : Upgrade and Exception Filters Problem

I need some help. I have upgraded from 5.1.12 to 6.0.8 No matter what
properties I set in the Exception Handler I still get the same Unhandled
Eureka Dialog.
For instance, I have a filter for EcxEditValidationError. I changed to
RTL(new setting in 6). The EurekaLog1ExceptionNotify event is still
processed(was not called in 5.1.12) and I get the Eureka Error Notification.
I have also tried setting Handler Eureka, Handled, No Message,
Dialog:Message, Action:None. Still processes as unhandled and sends me a
notification..
I think something is broken or am I just missing something?
BTW. I tried both D7 and 2007 IDEs and got the same result.

Hi,
I think is possible some old 5.1.12 units are in conflict with the new 6.0.8.
Try to do this:
1)...Close all opened Delphi/CBuilder instances;
2)...Deinstall all installed EurekaLog versions;
3)...Remove all folders containing the ExceptionLog.* or ?ExceptionExpert.* files;
4)...re-download and install the last 6.0.8 EurekaLog version (I have made some little changes from the first 6.0.8 releases);
5)...restart your PC.
I'm waiting to your feedback as soon as possible, ok? :)

No luck. However, I decided to add the Dev Express Filter to your GUI Demo
and it worked properly! I tried removing the filters from project and
readd. Still did not work. I noticed the Dev Express Exception Class did
not appear in the drop down so I tried EConvertError. Same unhandled
exception. Some issue within all my projects?
What is the next step?

Hi,
I think the best solution is if you can send to me a little source demo able to reproduce your issue, so that I can solve it for you, OK? :)

Fabio,
The issue was definitely somewhere the delphi project configuration files.
I removed the project files minus dpr and res. Reenabled Eureka, added the
filter, and the results were as expected. Keep in mind 2 conversions here:
D7 to 2007 and Eureka 5 to 6. Let me know what I can do to assist in the
troubleshooting process. I can send you some files if it helps.

I'm working on, please to be patient! :)

Sending it now.
From my tests all seems to works fine.
The email is always sent only because the Exception Filters alter ONLY the Exception Dialog showing.
If you did not wont the Email Sending then I suggest you to choose RTL as Exception Handler.
I think to add more "Exceptions Filters" options in the next 6.1 version! :)
