After I installed EurekaLog 6.0.11, the Delphi 7.1 IDE started crashing for some projects. The erros kept popping up even after I uninstalled Eurekalog. The log for the first error is attached.

Thanks for your message. I had installed the 6.0.11 trial. Is there a 6.0.12 trial? If so, where can I find it? All the best, Alexandre.

:confused:Is there a way to repair my system, after uninstalling EurekaLog? I tried the repair option of the delphi setup program, but again to no avail. To do a clean reinstall, hunt down and reinstall all the components I use would take too amuch time - time that I do not have right now.

Is only a 6.0.12 RC 1 and is currently available on the User Control Panel (for the registered users).

It's really strange.

I think isn't EurekaLog related.

Try to do this:

1)...Close all opened Delphi/CBuilder instances;
2)...Deinstall all installed EurekaLog versions;
3)...Remove all folders containing the ExceptionLog.* or ?ExceptionExpert.* files;
4)...download and install the last EurekaLog version;
5)...restart your PC.

I'm waiting to your feedback as soon as possible, ok? :)

Thanks for your message. I did as requested, but nothing has changed - see below. It may be a coincidence that the errors started happening just after I installed EurekaLog, but it seems that other user reoprted the same problem -
see thread "Exceptions and crash IDE after installing EurekaLog". If the problem already existed, it only became visible after I installed EurekaLog. All the best, Alexandre.

If you want I can connect with your PC using our remote support tool, so to can definitely check the problem on your PC, ok?

To allow me to connect directly with your PC you must only download and run our remote control tool (http://www.eurekalog.com/files/EurekaLog_Remote_Support.exe).

It is only a simple TCP client (NOT server), working on the HTTPS ports, so it works with any firewall and local network configuration.

Thanks for your e-mail. It is possible that it is a coincidence. I will try the same project in my home machine after the holidays, and see what happens. As the errors show up for only one project (although a project that is very important for me), I do not see how it would be possible to make a simple test case, what would be necessary to submit the possible bug properly. One way or another, I will keep you posted. If I have the same errors on the second machine, I will take you up on the offer to try to find its cause remotely. Merry Xmas, Alexandre.

If you are still willing to connect remotely, please advise when we should do it. I have already downloaded the clien program. All the best, Alexandre.

OK but I'm currently out of office, so I think to can do this after the 2-Jan-2008.

In the meantime try the last 6.0.12 RC 2 ad tell back to me the results, OK? :)

I have just tried 6.0.12 RC 2, but t he same errors happened again. I have tried also to clone another delphi installation, but again it had no visible effect on the error. Please advise when you would like to connect. All the best, Alexandre.

Everithing is working now. I am not sure what has changed: I have just uninstalled some packages that I do not use any more (Indy 7, Zeos) and update some others (TRichView and add-ons). I suspect that the error was cause by un unstable package (I have found some messages on the Internet that seems to indicate so, especially regarding the "privileged" error), but can not be sure (if only Delphi reported the errors using EurekaLog...). Anyway, everything seems fine now. Thanks, and all the best, Alexandre

I finally reinstalled Delphi 7 and I can now install EurekaLog. I don't know what the problem was, but wow that was annoying. Hopefully it will continue to work as I use Delphi, reinstall all my components, etc. Moral of the story: be careful when installing new versions of Delphi!
