View Full Version : LINKER ERROR in BDS 2006 with C++ Personality

When I turn on Eureka log and try to link my program I get a "Fatal Error"
Unable to Open TypeInfo.obj.
If I turn it off, all is good. I have searched my entire hard drive and
though I find typeinfo.h I can't find either a .c or .obj file. What am I
missing?
Thanks in advance, and please be aware that I'm not really a C++ programmer;
normally I work in Delphi so please spell out explicitly anything I need to
know and assume I know nothing...
Thanks in advance!
Ken

Never mind... I uninstalled everything and reinstalled and now things seem
okay...

Drat. "Mind again"... it came back when I enabled EurekaLog and did a full
build!

Try to do this:
1)...Close all opened C++Builder instances;
2)...Deinstall all installed EurekaLog versions;
3)...Remove all folders containing the ExceptionLog.* or ?ExceptionExpert.* files;
4)...download and install the last EurekaLog version;
5)...restart your PC.
I'm waiting to your feedback as soon as possible, ok? :)

Yep. Did that without change.
I finally did figure it out though -- I was making a DLL which did not have
any interface so I wasn't using the vcl. Apparently this is not compatible
with Eurekalog. Once I changed the project to use the vcl, everything
worked.
You might want to add this to your knowledge base and see if you can make it
fail more gracefully if not at all.

Hi Ken,
I think I'll add your really good feedback to the next version of the FAQ page!
You're great! ;)
