Hi.

Thank you, but I do not see any attached file :(
If you have any problems with posting - please, try another way. For example, use our support form: http://www.eurekalog.com/support.php .

Hi.

Try also to create a exe-demo for creating such report. If it is possible - send us sources (with EL options) and (optionally) compiled binary.

I have seen this problem with EurekaLog_Viewer.exe since December. As I can easily look at the log I have never worried about it, thinking that the problem was known and would be fixed in an upcoming release. I have not been able to use the viewer for about 4 months - bit of a pity really, as I quite liked using the viewer in the past.

I get this "Wrong File Format" dialog just by starting the viewer or by double clicking and elf file.

Wrong File Format does not produce an error or exception, just the
dialog box.

Today I played with the viewer, trying to delete/clear old entries and
it generated an error which I have sent on to you in a separate message.

Hi.

We have received several complains about this issue, but no one was able to provide an example of such mailformed report and we unable to reproduce this issue :( Any help would be appreciated.

Where did you send it? I do not see it on forum. There is no entry on support also. I'll ask Fabio about his e-mail though.

When the el-viewer.exe error arose, the pop-email window sent the message to support@...

On the other point, it is very difficult to send an error when only a dialog pops-up in front of a command-prompt window. Regrettably, there is nothing to see. To this point, I attach a screen capture. Maybe there's a clue in it for you.

Hello.

Fabio have answered you via e-mail.
It appears to be a bug, that was fixed in 6.0.18. See change-log here: http://www.eurekalog.com/showchangelog.php

EurekaLog 6.0.18 (03-Dec-2008)
10)...Fixed a bug that created the EurekaLog Viewer as Console application raising a "Wrong file format" exception;

I'm not sure, how it is applied to the original question.

I still have the same issue after upgrading to 6.0.20. The log view does come up after the error with part of a log record which I can niether delete or clear. Attempting to clear the log results in an AV. I submitted the report this morning. I've tried deleting the log file but I still get the same error with the same odd log entry. I'm going to try and attach the log to this reply again (last time it didn't work).

Hi.

I can see an attached file, but there is nothing wrong with it. My viewer from 6.0.20 opens it successfully and displays it correctly.

Can you describe steps to demonstrate the problem? May be post few screenshots?

Do you have this issue with any bug-report, produced by EurekaLog? Or it is just for your particular application?

Here's the information you requested. Is sure would be nice to use the Log Viewer again.

An additional note...it looks like the version info for the log viewer shown in the log is incorrect. I'm using the latest version (3.0.8) but the log shows 3.0.7.

Hi rjrains,

just a question (related to this bug).

Are you testing the latest EurekaLog 6.0.5 beta 10 for Visual Studio too?

Hey Fabio...no I'm not.

Thanks for you help Fabio. Here is Fabio's solution (worked for me)...

try to do this:

1)...Close all opened Delphi/C++Builder instances; 2)...Deinstall all installed EurekaLog versions; 3)...Remove all folders containing ExceptionLog.* or ?ExceptionExpert.* files; 4)...Remove the EurekaLog folder from your Application Data folder (%AppData%) 5)...download and install the latest EurekaLog version; 6)...restart your PC.
