View Full Version : [5.1.4] Eurekalog activation problem

Hi,

I've activated Eurekalog in the "Project->Eurekalog option". I'm using
BCB5. I see Eurekalog doing his job just after linking but when I'm
running the project I've got an error at startup:
"Cannot use a TEurekalog Component without activate Eurekalog"

Any help is welcome

Have you try with a full rebuild?

Otherwise try to do this:

1)...Close all opened Delphi/CBuilder instances;
2)...Deinstall all installed EurekaLog versions;
3)...Remove all folders containing the ExceptionLog.* or ?ExceptionExpert.* files;
4)...download and install the last EurekaLog version;
5)...restart your PC.

I'm waiting to your feedback as soon as possible, ok? :)

The problem is still present.

Here is more informations:

- I'm using BCB5 (update 1 and ilink32 patch)
- the problem occure on a "big" existing project (hundreds forms and exe
file is up to 22Mo)
- the problem does not occure on a new created sample project with the
same eurekalog options
- the problem occure on all my computers (so I think the problem is
related to the couple eurekalog/my big project)
- eurekalog has worked with this "big" project but since some weeks it
doesn't work anymore.
- Eurekalog's options have not been changed. Perhaps the growing size of
the project is the cause?

What's next?
Any help is welcome

I think the cause can be the linking of a wrongly .res or .dcr file or the .exe
file size.

Can you send to me all your external linked .res and .dcr files and the final
..exe file, please?

PS: try to send via email not at this newsgroups! :)

You can download:

I've compressed the most .lib, .res used and the final .exe. I've also
added the project file (.bpr).

Thanks for your great support. Just ask me if you need more
files/informations.

Try to do the following operations (with a good Resource Editor software):

1)...Export the RCDATA/ELDATA resource section in an external "ELDATA.bin" file;
2)...Delete the RCDATA/ELDATA resource section;
3)...Save the .exe file (without RCDATA/ELDATA resource section);
4)...Close the Resource Editor software;
5)...Re-open the Resource Editor software;
6)...Open the new .exe file;
7)...Import a new RCDATA resource section (from the "ELDATA".bin file);
8)...Save the new .exe file;
9)...Close the Resource Editor software;
10)...Try the new .exe file.

All this only to check if your .exe file resource section is wrong or not.

As Resource Editor softwares you can try the following:

1)...http://www.restuner.com/
2)...http://www.wilsonc.demon.co.uk/d10resourceeditor.htm
3)...http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/

or any other software that you think is more good!

I'm waiting for your feedback ASAP, ok? ;-)

My task list has been modified for some weeks. The eurekalog's priority
problem has been downgraded. I'll be back for this problem in the next
months.

Thanks for your support,

Hi,
Sorry for the late. I'm reworking on this problem now.

I've used XN Resource Editor to remove ELDATA ressource section and
readd it. It doesn't change anything.

Any other Idea?

I've tried to reduce the final .exe program size (from 20Mo to 5Mo).
Eurekalog is not showing. So we can think that the size is not involved
in the problem.

Any Idea ?

I've solved the problem.

Eurekalok was linked dynamicly. A static link and eurekalog works again.
